Job Opening: Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanical)

DIFCO is seeking a technically capable, self-motivated, reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Safety oriented, work well with others
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities (reactive and proactive):
    • Plant Machinery
    • Ventilation
    • Building Structure
    • Utilities
    • Production Lines and Components (Hoists, Tanks, Rectifiers, Air & Water Lines, Pumps, Etc.)
    • All Ancillary Support Equipment (Boilers, Chiller, Air Compressors, Waste Treatment Systems, Etc.)
  • Maintenance tasks include but not limited to the following:
    • Troubleshooting
    • Cleaning, Refreshing and Painting
    • Wiring
    • Replacing and/or Upgrading
    • Repairing
    • Lubricating
    • Rebuilding
    • Fabricating
    • Testing
    • Adjusting
    • Plumbing
    • Welding
  • Maintenance personnel must take pride in their work
  • Must understand the importance of machine uptime availability
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and take care of company tools, supplies and equipment

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a team player and have a positive “can-do” attitude with good communication skills
  • Educational requirements (at least one of the following)
    • Minimum of 2 years post High School education plus at least 2 years related experience
    • High School diploma plus at least 4 years related experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Organized and detail oriented•Understand industrial automation
  • Understand industrial power transmission (bearings, wheels, gears, motors, reducers, shafts, etc.)
  • Understand industrial pump systems•Understand pressure and drain plumbing (copper,  iron pipe,  stainless, PVC, CPVC, etc.)
  • Understand PLC controls systems and have at least basic understanding of PLC programs/functions•Understand motor controls and variable speed AC drives (VFD’s)
  • Understand electrical systems (power distribution and control)
  • Understand mechanical equipment drawings and electrical schematics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
